W H Y

Started from a client’s request to be included in a work in progress, the project had been shelved before it even began. Afterwards, the lamp became the subject of study for a new workflow. 

HOW

From the customer’s photographic reference, the lamp was initially modelled in 3D Max. The UV maps were unwrapped in order to import the geometry into the “Substance Painter” software with which it was possible to paint the state of wear of the metal in detail. 

Once this phase was completed, within 3ds Max the final render was created with Fstorm. Some final retouching has been done using Photoshop.
